Update your n8n Instances

1 min read

At SNBD HOST, our n8n hosting is designed around a dockerized environment. This approach allows us to isolate each instance, maintain security, and reduce the hassle for customers who may not want to deal with technical updates themselves. Because of this setup, we follow an Update on Request policy.

This means that your n8n instance will not be automatically updated to the latest version when a new release comes out. Instead, if you would like your instance to be updated, you will need to contact our support team. Our team will then schedule the update, apply it in a controlled way, and ensure that your workflows remain stable. This system helps us avoid sudden version changes that could break existing automations and gives customers more control over when they move to a newer release.

The update process is simple. First, you open a support ticket through your SNBD HOST client area and mention that you want your n8n hosting updated. Our support team will review your request and confirm a time when the update can be applied. Once confirmed, we will pull the latest stable n8n image, update your docker container, and restart your instance with the new version. After the update, we will check to ensure that your service is running properly before closing the request.

By handling updates this way, we are able to remove the hassle of manual upgrades while also protecting you from unexpected downtime. We believe this approach strikes the right balance between convenience and stability. In the future, we may introduce automated update options with rollback features, but for now, the Update on Request policy is in place to keep your n8n hosting environment safe and predictable.
